Sabalenka lost in Adelaide semifinals

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) - Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka, No.12 on the WTA ranking, suffered an upset in the Adelaide International semifinals as she fell to Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska (No.24) 4-6, 6-7 (4-7). The game lasted 1 hour 46 minutes, BelTA has learned.

In the first round, Aryna Sabalenka outplayed Hsieh Su-wei from Chinese Taipei (No. 36) 5-7, 6-1, 7-5 and after that she defeated Bernarda Pera of the United States, World No. 70, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 and upset No.2 seed Romanian Simona Halep (World No.4) 6-4, 6-2.

The Adelaide International will be over on 18 January.
