MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 16 Aryna Sabalenka has battled through France's world number 8 Caroline Garcia 5-7, 7-6 (7-3), 6-0 to reach the 2018 China Open quarterfinal in Beijing, BelTA has learned.
The match lasted for two hours and 20 minutes.
Aryna Sabalenka will next play China's world number 28 Wang Qiang for a berth in the semifinal.
In the opener the Belarusian saw off Spain's world number 15 Garbine Muguruza 7-5, 6-4.
The tournament in the Chinese capital will be over on 7 October.
