Russia win Single Mixed Relay gold at Raubichi

MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) - Russia won gold in the Single Mixed Relay at the IBU Open European Championships in Raubichi, BelTA has learned.

Silver went to Sweden, bronze to France.

The Belarus team of Elena Kruchinkina and Vladimir Chepelin came in 10th.

Russian Evgeniya Pavlova and Dmitry Malyshko were not very good at shooting earning one penalty loop and using nine additional rounds, but thanks to very good speed on track they bagged the European champions title with a result of 36:30.0. Swedes Anna Magnusson and Jesper Nelin were back 20.6 seconds (0+6), French Lou Jeanmonnot and Aristide Begue were 29.0 seconds behind the winning time (0+6).

Elena Kruchinkina and Vladimir Chepelin used 11 additional rounds and were 1:19.1 behind the leader.

The next event on the program is Mixed Relay which will feature 20 teams. The Belarusian team will include Olympic champions Dzinara Alimbekova, Iryna Kryuko and also Roman Eletnov and Sergei Bocharnikov.

Iryna Kryuko won the bronze medal in Women's 15K Individual of the 2019 IBU Open European Championships at Raubichi on 20 February.
