MINSK, 25 May (BelTA) - The Vytoki sport and cultural festival will be held in the town of Orsha on 3-5 June. The organizers will create a festive atmosphere to celebrate the cultural, sporting and economic potential of Orsha, BelTA learned from the press service of the NOC of Belarus.
The festival will open on 3 June with a program highlighting the historical and cultural heritage of Orsha at the Jesuit College (6 Lenin Street). The program will feature a roundtable "Orsha: Traditions in Modernity", the exhibitions "Wheel of Time " and children's drawings and a lecture-presentation "Modern Belarusian Fine Art". Children's arts school No.1 (21 Lenin Street) will host a concert of organ music and a meet-the-artist event with Valery Shmat "My Step Toward Olympus".
The festival will continue on 4 June with an educational seminar to promote creative and innovative projects "Youth Brand" (6 Lenin Street) and the cultural and economic program "The Capital of the Place". Its participants will discuss the development and promotion of national and regional brands.
On 5 June one of the central venues of the festival will be The Vytoki. A Step Toward Olympus platform (Ice Palace, 79 Lenin Street; Olympic Sports Complex, 21 Shevchenko Street, the official opening at 13.00). Everyone will be able to take part in competitions, families will have a chance to test their capabilities in various sports, perform tasks and get valuable prizes. Visitors to the festival will also be invited to a food court, a family fun zone, and the trade fair “Belarusian Brands”.
Another key event of the festival will be a vocal competition. A professional jury will choose the best young singers who will be presented with diplomas and prizes and will get an opportunity for further improvement. Professional dancers will invite everyone willing to learn the moves of old Belarusian dances and modern choreography to their dance master class.
The festival will round off at 19:00 on 5 June with a gala concert featuring pop singers Zhanet, Valery Shmat, Gunesh, Zina Kupriyanovich, Irina Dorofeyeva, Aleksandr Voronishche, the art group Belorusy, and the bands Drozdy, Jazz City Band, and ByCity.
The large-scale event kicked off in Lida in May.
In 2021, the Vytoki sport and cultural festival will also be hosted by Kobrin (10-12 June), Mozyr (24-26 June), Bobruisk (15-17 July), and Zhodino (5-7 August). Vytoki is a Belarusian brand, a symbol that reflects the idea of the festival movement: to popularize national culture, sport, history, traditions and to provide support to small towns. The organizers of the Vytoki festival are the National Olympic Committee of Belarus and the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus.
