MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – According to the sanitary and epidemiological services of Belarus, only one case of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 has been registered among the Belarusian athletes who have returned from the international competitions, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry.
According to the press service of the ministry, the athlete has been placed on quarantine and is getting necessary medical assistance. As for all other cases reported in the media, there is no information of anyone else testing positive for the coronavirus.
The ministry added that Deputy Director of the National Science and Research Center of Sports Gennady Zagorodny, who announced a number of virus cases among the athletes, has been on a leave for childcare since January and possesses no credible information.
