Olga Mazurenok finishes second at Spain's marathon

MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – Olga Mazurenok of Belarus finished second at Medio Maratуn Valencia Trinidad Alfonso EDP in Valencia, Spain, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Athletics Federation.

The athlete covered the distance of 42km 195m in 2:27.14. Aberu Mekuria Zennebe of Ethiopia clocked 2:26.17 to finish first. Bronze went to Winnie Jepkorir of Kenya (2:27.18).

The event in Valencia was the first competition for Olga Mazurenok after the Europe 10,000m Cup in Minsk in June where her injury got worse. That was the reason why she pulled from other events during the season. The Belarusian finished fifth at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, losing only to the recognized runners from African countries.
