MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) - The traditional New Year's Eve event "Olympic Tree" was held at the Falcon Club Arena in Minsk, BelTA learned from the press service of the NOC of Belarus.
The colorful show brought together more than 500 children aged 3-13, including children and grandchildren of champions and medalists of the Olympic Games, sports veterans, representatives of sports and other organizations from all regions of the country. This year, the NOC of Belarus offered guests a new modern, interactive format called "New Year's Eve Adventure at the Factory of Father Frost". The children and their parents became participants in the festive show with games, quests, dances and New Year's round dances.
"The New Year is a holiday celebrating the future, and I would like to wish you joy, prosperity and health," NOC President Viktor Lukashenko said as he addressed the guests. “We, adults, want to see our children smile, with happy eyes, while children want to see their parents as their friends. Therefore, everything is in our hands: if we set goals for ourselves, we must achieve them by any means, as our athletes do, despite all the difficulties.”
The NOC of Belarus, which annually participates in the charity event Our Children, invited children from six cities that hosted the cultural and sports festival "Vytoki. A Step Towards the Olympus”. Children from various social institutions were awarded certificates for sports gear: bicycles, balls, tubing, skis and other necessary things. At the end of the event, all children received sweet boxes from the NOC of Belarus.
