Nine medals for Belarus at Russian Speed Skating Championship

MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) - The Russian Speed Skating Championship completed in the Kuzbass Ice Palace in Kemerovo on 29 December, BelTA has learned.

Competing were 160 athletes from 25 subjects of the Russian Federation and also speed skaters from Belarus. The Belarusian national team clinched nine (five gold, one silver and three bronze) medals. Maryna Zuyeva became a three-time champion of the tournament, showing the best time in the women's 3,000m, 5,000m and mass start.

On the final day of the Russian Speed Skating Championship Belarus won gold medals in the men's and women's team sprints. Earlier, Hanna Damaratskaya claimed bronze in the women's 500m and Viktar Rudenka took bronze in the men's 1,000m. Belarus collected silver in the men's team pursuit and bronze in the women's team pursuit.
