MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) – The level of the Belarusian Football Championship has noticeably improved, new head coach of FC Dinamo Minsk Leonid Kuchuk told the media, BelTA has learned.
“The level of the Belarusian Football Championship has noticeably improved in comparison with the previous year. There are things I can compare with. I have watched championships of 12 countries, from Moldova to Italy,” Leonid Kuchuk said. In his words, the current competitions are watched by fans around the globe and many footballers are dreaming of becoming its participants.
Leonid Kuchuk said that it is a great honor for him to head FC Dinamo Minsk, as much of the history of one of the flagships of the Belarusian football was created in front of his eyes. “I had no doubts about joining the coaching staff of the FC Dinamo Minsk. This is a club with great traditions, which will soon turn 100 years old. I have seen many outstanding athletes who earned the glory of the national football. I know many of them personally. “FC Dinamo Minsk is a brand that is well-known and respected throughout the football world,” the new head coach added.
Leonid Kuchuk played for FC Gomselmash, KIM Vitebsk, FC Molodechno, FC Ataka Minsk and FC Dinamo 93. He started his coaching career in 1990. Under his tutelage, FC Sheriff Tiraspol became the champion six times and won the Cup and the Moldova Super Cup three times. Under Leonid Kuchuk, FC Lokomotiv Moscow won bronze of the Russian Championship. In 2019, he led FC Rukh Lviv.
In the ongoing Belarusian Premier League FC Dinamo Minsk secured two victories and suffered three defeats. FC Dinamo Minsk go 12th in the overall standings. FC Dinamo Minsk will next play FC Smolevichi on 24 April.
