MTZ to compete in tractor biathlon event in Udmurtia

MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) – Representatives of Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ trademark) will take part in the tractor biathlon tournament in the village of Bolshaya Kivara, Votkinsk District, the Udmurt Republic on 16 March, BelTA learned from the Belarusian company.

“The race will feature local residents and representatives of Belarus' MTZ. A total of 30 participants will compete on 16 tractors, including four MTZ vehicles. The Belarusian manufacturer will bring BELARUS-82 tractors to test them in extreme conditions,” the MTZ said.

The track will be 1.2km long and 10m wide. Participants will compete in the best driving time and shooting accuracy.

Visitors will be able to buy MTZ merchandise and consumer goods. The program will include a crafts fair, an entertainment program by artists of the MTZ culture center, a playground for children, and the tasting of the dishes of the national cuisines of Udmurtia and Belarus.

Representatives of the Belarusian plant will also take part in traditional biathlon competitions that will be held alongside the tractor biathlon.

The event aims to strengthen international friendly ties, demonstrate the reliability of Belarusian tractors and attract the youth to winter sports.

Minsk Tractor Plant held the world's first tractor biathlon in Smorgon District in February 2018.
