Minsk to host workshop on athletic training technologies

MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian State University of Physical Education will play host to an international workshop on 21-27 November to discuss modern systems of training high-class athletes in gymnastics and dance sport, BelTA learned from spokeswoman for the Belarusian university Lyubov Shchurova.

Specialists are expected to exchange best practices and innovative technologies in training athletes taking into account modern trends, and enhance the level of their professional skills.

According to Lyubov Shchurova, the event will focus on rhythmic gymnastics, trampolining, artistic gymnastics, freestyle, sports acrobatics, aerobic gymnastics, dance sport and parkour. A number of master classes will be held at the Belarusian State University of Physical Education and the National Olympic Center of Rhythmic Gymnastics.

The workshop will be attended by more than 300 leading coaches, athletes, researchers and educators from Belarus, Russia, Belgium, the UK, Germany, Moldova, Poland, the Republic of South Africa, China and Japan.

Taking part in the event will be Rector of the Belarusian State University of Physical Education Sergei Repkin, head coach of the Belarusian national team in rhythmic gymnastics Irina Leparskaya, and 2010 Olympic champion in freestyle skiing Aleksei Grishin.
