Taking part in the event were both professionals and amateurs. 2018 European champion Volha Mazuronak took part in the 21.1km race.
The Minsk Half Marathon 2018 featured two-time winner of Kiptum Maiyo Kimaiyo from Kenya.
The marathon also featured the Dream Team, Angels' Wings, representatives of universities, ministries and departments, representatives of the Directorate of the 2nd European Games and Darya Domracheva's team.
The route went through Pobeditelei Avenue, Nezavisimosti Avenue, Masherova Avenue, Volodarskogo Street, Karla Marxa Street, Engelsa Street, Kommunisticheskaya Street, Storozhevskaya Street, Kuibysheva Street, Bogdanovicha Street, Yanki Kupaly Street, Nezavisimosti Square and Victory Square.
The organizers increased the Minsk Half Marathon 2018 prize pot to $50,000. Head of the Belarusian Athletics Federation Vadim Devyatovsky said that the bulk of the sum will be distributed among the best male and female marathoners in the 21.2km race.
In 2018 the Minsk Half Marathon was held for the fourth time. In 2017 the event featured about 30,000 participants.
The event has the Road Race Bronze Label status of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and five stars of quality and safety of the European Athletics Association.
