MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – Belarus' Raman Piatrushenka and Vitali Bialko finished eighth in the Men's K2 1000m at the 2nd European Games 2019 in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
Max Hoff and Jacob Schopf of Germany won the event. Second were Oleksandr Syromiatnykov and Oleh Kukharyk of Ukraine. Bronze was collected by Russia's Vladislav Litovka and Roman Anoshkin.
According to the Russian athletes, they had chances to place higher. “We have worked hard for the past two months and will continue training for the world championships. We could place higher and compete for gold or silver of the European Games. Germany were the favorites and took a well-deserved victory. The regatta course in Zaslavl is good but slightly windy,” Roman Anoshkin said.
In the Men's C2 1000m, Belarus' Andrei Bahdanovich and Vitali Asetski finished seventh. Gold went to Romania.
Canoe sprint competitions are underway in Minsk as part of the 2nd European Games.More about Sport
