MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) – Belarus placed seventh in the beach soccer tournament at the 2nd European Games in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
In their last match Belarus beat Romania 5-2. Scoring for Belarus were Aleh Hapon (twice), Ivan Miranovich, Dzianis Samsonov, and Ivan Kanstantsinau.
In the qualifying round Belarus defeated Romania and Switzerland and lost to Portugal to finish third in Group A. In the match for the 5th-8th places Belarus lost to Russia.
Russia will next play Italy for the 5th place. Ukraine and Switzerland will compete for bronze. Spain and Portugal will play for gold.
At the 1st European Games in Baku Russia beat Italy 3-2 to claim the champion title. Portugal secured bronze defeating Switzerland 6-5.
