MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) – Belarus' Lidziya Marozava and Japan's Shuko Aoyama went off to a good start at the 2018 Hengqin Life WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai, BelTA has learned.
In the women's doubles opener the Belarusian-Japanese tandem defeated the Polish-Romanian duo of Alicja Rosolska and Mihaela Buzarnescu 6-3, 6-2.
Earlier, Belarus' world number 12 Aryna Sabalenka recorded the first win of the 2018 Hengqin Life WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai in style, moving past Ashleigh Barty of Australia, world number 19, in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. On Friday, 2 November, Aryna Sabalenka will face France's world 18 Caroline Garcia.
