Kim Joon Young signs with FC Dinamo Minsk

MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) — Korean midfielder Kim Joon Young has signed with FC Dinamo Minsk. He has become the first Korean footballer in the Belarusian Football Championship, BelTA has learned.

The 20-year-old player is a graduate of the Seoul Hanyang Football Academy. He joined FC Dinamo Minsk at the first training camp in Sochi in late January.

Sergei Gurenko's team are gearing up for the season in Belek, Turkey. FC Dinamo Minsk will have to matches with the teams of the Russian Premier League. On 21 February FC Dinamo Minsk will face Dynamo Moscow. The Belarusian team will play Russia's champion Zenit Saint Petersburg on 22 February. Minskers will also take on FC Volyn Lutsk (Ukraine) on 29 February and FK Spartaks Jurmala (Latvia) on 1 March.

FC Dinamo Minsk will open the new season with the Belarus Cup quarterfinal match against Belarus' vice champion FC BATE Borisov on 9 March.

FC BATE Borisov are also having a training camp in Belek until 29 February. Kirill Alshevsky's men will face FC Zhetysu Taldykorgan on 23 February and FC Rukh Lviv (Ukraine) on 28 February.

On 17 February, FC Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino lost to FC Nasaf 2-3 in Turkey. FC Vitebsk were whitewashed by FC Desna Chernihiv 0-4.

On 18 February, Belarus' champion FC Dinamo Brest will face FK Kaspiy Aktau (Kazakhstan), bronze medalist FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk will play FC Dila Gori (Georgia), FC Isloch will take on FC Irtysh Pavlodar, FC Minsk will play FC Dynamo Moscow.
