KHL: Dinamo Minsk lose to Salavat Yulaev

MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk lost 8-3 to HC Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the KHL regular-session match on 22 December, BelTA has learned.

The first period went goalless, with Danny Taylor keeping the Minsk goal intact. At the start of the second, Dinamo took an unexpected lead through Roman Gorbunov. However, within a couple of minutes Ufa had a 5-on-3 advantage and took full value from it. Sakari Manninen tied the scores before Geoff Platt marked his Ufa debut with a goal against his former club. Markus Granlund made it 3-1 midway through the frame.

In less than two minutes in the final stanza, the home team scored three: Mikhail Naumenkov, Manninen's second of the night and Artyom Pimenov did the damage. Brandon Kozun scored in the 48th minute and Vladimir Alistrov scored his KHL first to narrow the gap. Salavat's Vladimir Zharkov and Eduard Gimatov added two more for the Ufa team to enjoy a big victory.
