MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) - The 2020 Junior Club World Cup among junior ice hockey teams has been canceled over the coronavirus pandemic, TASS reported.

“Unfortunately, this year's Junior Club World Cup has been canceled over the coronavirus situation,” said Alexey Morozov, KHL President and Member of the Board of the Junior Hockey League.

The tournament was first held in 2011. The current one will be its 10th edition. The competitions traditionally held in August feature winners and medalists of the European junior leagues and also invited teams from North America.

The Russian clubs won the event seven times. Sweden and Canada raised the trophy once each. The reigning champion is HC Loko Yaroslavl.
