MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) – The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) has published a new qualification system for the Tokyo Olympic Games, approved by the IOC Executive Board, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
As proposed by the ISSF, the Quota Places will be allocated at the 2021 European Championship 10m in Lohia, Finland, and at the European Championship 25/50/300m/Shotgun in Osijek, Croatia from 23 May to 6 June.
Previously, the World Cup 2018 in the Republic of Korea and the World Cup 2019 in India, China, Germany and Brazil were the qualifying events for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The Belarusian bullet shooting team holds two licenses won by Yury Shcherbatsevich (silver at the 2nd European Games in Minsk) and Maria Martynova (silver at the European Championship 2019 in Bologna).
The Tokyo Games have been postponed by the IOC due to the coronavirus pandemic and will take place in Japan on 23 July-8 August 2021.
