Ilya Ivashka into 2020 Maharashtra Open quarterfinal

MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 152 Ilya Ivashka has reached the quarterfinal of the 2020 Maharashtra Open in India, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian saw off world number 82 Stefano Travaglia of Italy 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-3) on 5 February.

In the opener Ilya Ivashka beat Russia's world number 109 Evgeny Donskoy 6-3, 6-2. In the quarterfinal the Belarusian will play Jiri Vesely of the Czech Republic (World No.107).

Belarus' world number 90 Egor Gerasimov defeated Italy's world number 115 Paolo Lorenzi 6-2, 6-3 in the round of Last 32. He will next face Serbia's world number 148 Nikola Molojevic. In the men's doubles round of Last 16 Egor Gerasimov and India's Sumit Nagal lost to the Indian tandem of Purav Raja and Ramkunar Ramanathan 6-7 (6-8), 3-6.

Belarus' Andrei Vasilevski and Jonathan Erlich of Israel defeated the Australian duo of James Duckworth and Matt Reid 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.

2020 Maharashtra Open will finish on 9 February.
