Hungary's Balint Kopasz celebrates win in Men's K1 5000m at Minsk 2019

MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) - Balint Kopasz of Hungary celebrated the win in the Men's K1 5000m at the 2nd European Games on 27 June, BelTA has learned.

Portuguese Fernando Pimenta was leading long in the race but lost to Balint Kopasz at the finish. German Max Hoff took the bronze. Belarusian Aleh Yurenia finished in fourth.

The men's 5000m was the final event on the canoe competition program on 27 June. The athletes had to take into account the windy weather but, as they noted, this did not affect the positive atmosphere at the regatta course in Zaslavl.
