MINSK, 7 August (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk will open the new season of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) against HC Jokerit Helsinki on the home ground on 3 September, BelTA learned from the official Twitter account of the league.
Dinamo Minsk v Jokerit Helsinki match will be one of the seven matches to be played on the next day following the Opening Cup match. HC CSKA Moscow and HC Ak Bars Kazan will compete for the trophy on 2 September. The calendar of the 2020/21 KHL season will be announced later on 7 August.
HC Dinamo Minsk kicked off the previous championship against HC Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk. The Bisons lost the match 2-4. HC Dinamo Minsk scored 39 points in 62 matches and finish the season at the bottom of the Western Conference. On 25 March 2020 the KHL decided to end the 2019/20 season ahead of time.
