HC Dinamo Minsk coaching staff dismissed

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – The entire coaching staff of HC Dinamo Minsk were dismissed on 9 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the team.

According to HC Dinamo Minsk, head coach Gordie Dwyer was fired. Contracts with coaches Sergei Stas, Konstantin Koltsov, Andrei Kudin, Gennady Lyango and Yuri Kuzmenkov were cancelled by mutual agreement.

“The team needs radical changes. Therefore, having discussed the situation together with the coaches we came to the unanimous conclusion that the termination of cooperation with the current coaching staff should bring a positive momentum to the team. We need radical improvements in almost all components of the game. Such decisions are justified at moments like this one. Only thus can we change something for the better. We will soon announce specialists who will replace Gordie Dwyer and his assistants. The new coaching staff will take over in the near future to get the team ready for the match against HC Traktor,” said HC Dinamo Minsk General Director Dmitry Baskov.

Canadian specialist Gordie Dwyer coached the Belarusian team since summer 2017. In the ongoing 2018/2019 KHL season HC Dinamo Minsk has been struggling at the bottom of the Western Conference, seven points away from the playoff zone.

The Bisons will be back in action this week hosting Traktor Chelyabinsk on 11 November, Metallurg Magnitogorsk on 13 November and Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg on 16 November.
