Gomel to host European Deaf Wrestling Championships in November

GOMEL, 15 October (BelTA) – Gomel will play host to the European Deaf Wrestling Championships in November 2019, Gomel Oblast Governor Gennady Solovei said as he honored Gomel athletes – champions and medalists of the 2nd European Games and coaches on 15 October, BelTA has learned.

According to the governor, the country will host such competitions for the first time. The tournament will gather more than 300 athletes from 20 countries at the Gomel Athletics Palace.

“The hosting of such important events promotes not only the Belarusian sport movement in the international arena but also develops the image of the city and the region, and also develops Gomel Oblast as a tourist destination,” Gennady Solovei said.
