Four medals for Belarus at UWW World Pankration Championships in Rome

MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – Belarus won four medals at the UWW World Pankration Championships in Rome, BelTA learned from spokesman for the Belarusian Pankration and Mixed Martial Arts Federation Aleksandr Abdulkhakov.

Belarus fielded seven athletes at the tournament. According to Aleksandr Abdulkhakov, the coaching staff opted for young and promising athletes.

Ivan Kulak claimed silver in the 75kh light contact event. His teammate Maksim Bachilo secured silver and bronze medals in the 84kg event. Andrei Zhukovsky finished third in the 91kg event.

According to the Belarusian Pankration and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, the Belarusian athletes showed their best at the world championships and gained valuable experience of competing internationally.

Competing at the tournament were well-known athletes such as Dauren Ermekov of Kazakhstan and Kirill Gorobets of Ukraine.
