Four medals for Belarus at EUBC U22 European Boxing Championships in Vladikavkaz

MINSK, 18 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes clinched four bronze medals at the EUBC U22 Men and Women European Boxing Championships that took place in Vladikavkaz, Russia on 7-18 March, BelTA has learned.

Belarus' Darya Osmolovskaya (69kg) defeated Hungary's Vivien Budai at the preliminary stage and lost to Italy's Angela Carini in the semifinal to finish third. Bronze was also won by Belarus' Evgeny Karmilchik (49kg), Dmitry Deshkevich (60kg) and Alexander Rodionov (69kg).

Taking part in the competitions were 240 athletes from 39 countries.

Boxing makes part of the 2nd European Games program in Minsk. Over 300 boxers will compete in 15 medal events during the multi-sport forum in the Belarusian capital on 21-30 June.
