FIS releases COVID-19 testing protocol

MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – The International Ski Federation (FIS) has released its World Cup Risk Management Covid-19 Testing Protocol for upcoming events, BelTA learned from the official website of the organization.

According to the organization, PCR testing of FIS representatives, athletes, support staff and accredited personnel is required every three to four days in order to be given access to competitions.

“As a measure to reduce the risk and scale of the coronavirus pandemic, testing for antibodies has been added to the doping control testing protocol,” the organization said in a statement.

“Doping tests will continue to be administered. This will only be an additional test. This measure will be applied through March 2021. We have contacted all National Federations. Athletes should approve this,” commented Sarah Fussek, FIS Communications representative.
