First winners at Ice Star 2019 in Minsk named

MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – First winners have been named at the ongoing international tournament Ice Star 2019 at the Olympic Park in Minsk. The first medal events were held in the Advanced Novice category, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Skating Union.

The men's singles event was won by Belarus' Ilya Stepankov who scored a total of 87.81 points. Silver went to Nikita Sheiko of Israel (87.49). Bronze was collected by Ukraine's Maksim Petryshenko (74.63).

The women's singles event was won by Minseo Jung of Korea (114.39 points). Silver went to Alexandra Makeeva of Russia (107.38). Agne Ivanovaite of Lithuania scored a total of 106.2 points to place third.

The podium in the ice dance event was fully occupied by Russian pairs.

Junior medal events are scheduled for 17 October, with the Challenger to take place on 18-20 October.
