Egor Gerasimov into Kremlin Cup second round

MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – Belarus world number 217 Egor Gerasimov went off to a good start at the Kremlin Cup in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

In the round of Last 32 the Belarusian battled through Damir Dzumhur from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the world number 39, 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2. The match lasted for one hour and 45 minutes. The Belarusian will next face either France's world number 57 Benoit Paire or World No.71 Mischa Zverev of Germany.

In the men's doubles event the Belarusian-Austrian tandem Max Mirnyi and Philipp Oswald of Austria will take on the French duo of Hugo Nys and Benoit Paire.

In the women's doubles event Belarus' Lidziya Marozava and Monique Adamczak of Australia will place the Australian-Russian tandem of Ajla Tomljanovic and Evgeniya Rodina.

In Luxembourg Belarus' world number 62 Vera Lapko defeated Germany's world number 100 Carina Witthoft in the round of Last 32. Paired with Mandy Minella of Luxembourg the Belarusian beat the Romanian-Swiss tandem of Irina Maria Bara and Xenia Knoll.
