Dinamo Minsk lose to Sibir on home ice

MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk were edged by HC Sibir Novosibirsk 2-3 as the Bisons opened their home series in the KHL regular season on 12 September, BelTA has learned.

Shane Prince opened the scoring with his debut goal for Dinamo Minsk early in the first period. The Bisons, however, failed to keep the lead. After Aleksandr Kitarov got a penalty, Finnish forward Mikael Ruohomaa turned the game in Sibir's favor, tying the score on the power play and then putting the visitors in front midway through the game.

Another power play goal, from Yegor Milovzorov, increased Sibir's advantage before Marc-Andre Gragnani pulled one back later on. That set up a frantic final minute, but Sibir held on to take the win.

The Bisons will continue their home series against Metallurg Magnitogorsk on 15 September, Amur Khabarovsk on 18 September and Jokerit Helsinki on 21 September.

Dinamo Minsk kicked off their 12th season in the Kontinental Hockey League with three defeats in a row, losing to Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk 2-4, Dynamo Moscow 2-3 and Sochi 4-5. The Bisons secured their first win in the season edging Spartak Moscow 5-4.
