Dinamo Minsk edge Spartak on home ground

MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk secured a narrow win, 4-3, over the visiting Spartak Moscow in the 2019-2020 KHL regular season on 21 January, BelTA has learned.

Minsk took the lead with an early goal from Igor Martynov but soon saw Spartak move ahead. Ilya Zubov and Robin Hanzl found the net for the visitor.

Dinamo, however, hit back to regain the lead before the second intermission. Shane Prince tied the scores and Evgeny Dadonov made it 3-2.

Alexander Kitarov extended the lead with a short-handed effort early in the third period. Spartak's efforts to snatch the victory from the Bisons failed, despite a power play goal from Kaspars Daugavins to narrow the gap with seven minutes left.

Craig Woodcroft's men will next face Severstal Cherepovets on 25 January.
