MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk beat HC Dinamo Riga 2-1 in a KHL game on home ground on 18 December, BelTA has learned.
A third-period fightback between these two namesakes saw Minsk claim its first win in four thanks to two goals from Quinton Howden.
The Latvians took the lead at the start of the second period when Martins Dzierkals converted a power play chance. Howden's first of the night came in the 47th minute and he scored again two minutes to go.
The win lifts Minsk over Slovan and Severstal into 10th place in the Western Conference. The Minsk Bisons will be back in action on 20 December as they host Slovan Bratislava.
