Defeat to Admiral shuts door on Dinamo's KHL playoff hopes

MINSK, 23 January (BelTA) - Admiral's Kirill Voronin crashed Dinamo Minsk's playoff hopes with a last-minute winner in Minsk on 22 January, BelTA informs.

The second period brought power play goals for Charles Linglet and Justin Fontain, and the playoff dream still seemed to be alive. But Ivan Mishchenko hit back in the 36th minute for Admiral, and tied it up early in the third to erase the Bisons' 2-0 lead.

Dinamo knew that only three points would keep its season alive, and withdrew goalie Jhonas Enroth for the closing moments of the game. Kirill Voronin hit the empty net on a counter-attack to claim a 3-2 victory for Admiral.

The defeat means Dinamo Minsk loses any mathematical chances for the postseason.

The Bisons still have three games to play before wrapping up the 10th KHL season.
