Darya Grokhotova of Belarus raises Marina Lobach Trophy

MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – The 16th Rhythmic Gymnastics International Tournament for Marina Lobach Prizes completed at the Rhythmic Gymnastics Center in Minsk on 7 December, BelTA has learned.

Minsk gathered athletes from ten countries. On the first day of the competitions medal events were held among the youngest athletes (born in 2007-2008). Darya Grokhotova of Belarus won the individual all-around event with Rope and Ball scoring a total of 31,650 points. Silver went to Aim Meirjanova from Kazakhstan (27,400). Third was Yekaterina Sazonova of Russia (27,350).

The Russian team of Lala Kramarenko, Sofia Nikeyeva, and Diana Simoshina (athletes born in 2004-2006) won the team event. The Belarusian team of Arina Krasnoputskaya, Kseniya Steshits and Darya Tkacheva placed second. Bronze went to Italy. The top three in the team all-around event featured Belarus, Estonia and Russia.

Belarus won 20 medals at the last year's tournament.

The tournament was organized by the Presidential Sport Club, the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry, the National Olympic Center in Rhythmic Gymnastics, the Belarusian Gymnastics Association, the Belarusian Sport and Physical Training Society Dinamo and the Minsk City Hall.
