Darya Domracheva receives sportsmanship award

MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) – Four-time Olympic champion Darya Domracheva received the sportsmanship award, BelTA learned from the press service of the International Biathlon Union (IBU).

Darya Domracheva got voted for the sportsmanship award by World Cup athletes, thanks to her great act at the IBU World Cup in Antholz, the IBU said. Johannes Thingnes Boe of Norway also got the sportsmanship award.

As it was reported earlier, Darya Domracheva accidentally stepped on the pole of her rival Dorothea Wierer (Italy) as they were competing for the second-placed finish in Anholz and decided not to attack on the finish line thus giving the Italian athlete an opportunity to finish ahead of her.
