Bogdanova, Platonov out of Mixed Doubles semifinal at Minsk 2019

MINSK, 24 June (BelTA) – Belarus' Nadezhda Bogdanova and Pavel Platonov have failed to reach the Mixed Doubles semifinal in table tennis at the 2nd European Games in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

In the quarterfinal on 24 June, the Belarusian duo lost a tense match to the French tandem of Laura Gasnier and Tristan Flore 2-3 (4-11, 11-7, 6-11, 14-12, 4-11). In the opener, Nadezhda Bogdanova and Pavel Platonov took a solid win over Szandra Pergel and Adam Szudi of Hungary, 3-0.

In the Men's Singles, leader of the Belarusian team Vladimir Samsonov battled through Italy's Niagol Stoyanov 4-3 to reach the round of Last 16. The Belarusian will face Russia's Kirill Skachkov on 24 June.

In the Women's Singles, Belarus' Viktoryia Paulovich secured the last 16 berth after seeing off Romania's Elizabeta Samara 4-3. Viktoryia Paulovich will next face Xiaoxin Yang of Monaco on 24 June.

Table tennis competitions in Minsk include five medal events: men's and women's singles, mixed doubles, men's and women's team.
