MINSK, 14 February (BelTA) - Vyacheslav Berzhets was elected new chairman of the Belarusian Taekwondo Federation (BTF) during a conference of the federation in the NOC headquarters on 13 February, BelTA learned from the Belarus NOC press service.
Vyacheslav Berzhets served as the chairman of the Belarus Taekwondo League that has been showing good results at ITF taekwondo for the last 10 years. Major international sport events were held in Minsk under his guidance, for example, the ITF world and European Taekwondo championships among juniors, veterans, men and women, the 7th International Martial Arts Games and others.
The conference heard the reports on the work of chairman Boris Nagorny and the BTF control-revision commission. New members of of the presidium and the control-revision commission were elected. The BTF charter was amended as well.
Attending the conference were Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister Aleksandr Baraulya, NOC Vice President Dmitry Dovgalenok, Chairman of the BTF Supervisory Board, Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry Roman Golovchenko, and members of the BTF presidium.
