Belarusian swimmers claim seven medals in St Petersburg

MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) – Belarusian swimmers clinched seven medals at the 12th international swimming tournament Vladimir Salnikov Cup that ended in St Petersburg on 22 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Swimming Federation.

Ilya Shimanovich took the champion title in the men's 100m and 50m breaststroke. Alina Zmushko won silver in the women's 50m breaststroke and bronze in the women's 100m breaststroke.

Evgeny Tsurkin claimed silver in the men's 100m butterfly and bronze in the men's 50m butterfly.

The Belarusian team of Viktor Staselovich, Alyona Semizhon, Ilya Shimanovich and Alina Zmushko clinched silver in the 4x50m mixed relay.

Taking part in the competitions were more than 300 Russian athletes from the preliminary official rankings of the All-Russian Swimming Federation.
