Belarusian judokas 5th at 2019 Military World Games

MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – Belarusian judokas placed fifth in the Team Men event at the 7th CISM World Games 2019 which are underway in Wuhan, China on 18-27 October, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian team of Dzmitrry Minkou (66kg weight category), Vadzim Shoka (73kg), Yunus Bekmurzaev (81kg), Yahor Varapayeu (90kg), Viktar Klyavusau (90kg), and Daniel Mukete (100k) defeated Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Algeria but lost to Kazakhstan.

Russia topped the table. Silver went to Brazil. The Republic of Korea and France got bronze medals.

Daniel Mukete won gold in the men' 100kg event.

Judo competitions at the 2019 Military World Games took place on 19, 20, and 22 October.

Taking part in the 2019 Military World Games are more than 9,000 military athletes from 110 countries. Belarus fielded 97 athletes at the games. Athletes of the Armed Forces of Belarus have been taking part in the CISM World Games since 1995.

Belarus won 13 (one gold, six silver and six bronze) medals at the 6th CISM World Games.
