MINSK, 1 July (BelTA) - Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (11th on WTA ranking) lost her first-round Wimbledon match against Slovakia's Magdalena Rybarikova (139) 2-6, 4-6, BelTA has learned.
Another Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich is playing Romania's Simona Halep (7). Victoria Azarenka has drawn Alize Cornet (51) for the first encounter at Wimbledon and Vera Lapko will play against Chinese Wang Qiang (15) on 2 July.
This season's third Grand Slam will end on 14 July. This year's total prize money at Wimbledon is 38 million pounds.
