MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) - The Belarusian national football team is 76th in the December rankings of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), BelTA has learned.
Over the past month Igor Kriushenko's men did not play and remained at the same position with the total of 1,317 points. In November Belarus played two games as part of the UEFA Nations League campaign. Belarus beat Luxembourg and San Marino 2-0.
The December FIFA rankings are topped by Belgium. France is second. Third is Brazil, followed by Croatia.
FIFA Top 10 for December:
1. Belgium – 1,727 points
2. France – 1,726
3. Brazil – 1,676
4. Croatia – 1,634
5. England– 1,631
6. Portugal – 1,614
7. Uruguay – 1,609
8. Switzerland – 1,599
9. Spain – 1,591
10. Denmark – 1,589.
Ukraine is ranked highest among the post-Soviet states (28th). Russia goes 48th.
The next FIFA rankings will be published on 7 February 2019.
