Belarus win three medals at Strandja boxing tournament in Bulgaria

MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes clinched two silver and one bronze medals at the international boxing tournament Strandja in Sofia, Bulgaria, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Boxing Federation.

Aliaksandr Radzionau of Belarus (69kg) lost to France's Wahid Hambli in the final. Vadzim Pankou of Belarus lost to Ukraine's Oleksandr Hyzhniak in the 75kg final.

Mikhail Dauhaliavets of Belarus secured bronze after losing to Ukraine's Stepan Hrekul in the 81kg event.

The tournament featured about 300 athletes from 30 countries.

Belarusian athletes used the competitions as a warm-up ahead of the Olympic qualifiers. The European Olympic Qualifying Tournament will take place in London on 13-23 March. The World Olympic Qualifying Tournament is due in Paris on 13-24 May.
