
MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Russia's St. Petersburg played host to the traditional international swimming tournament Vladimir Salnikov Cup, BelTA has learned.
On the final day the Belarusian national team won three more medals. Anastasiya Shkurdai took another gold, this time in the 200m medley. Anastasiya Shkurdai, together with her teammates Alina Zmushka, Anastasiya Kuliashova, and Nastassia Karakouskaya, won silver in the 4x50m medley. Bronze in the same men's event went to the Belarusian team of Ivan Buyevich, Anton Knyshau, Hryhory Pekarski and Ruslan Skamaroshka.
Anastasiya Shkurdai and Hryhory Pekarski finished fourth in the 50m butterfly events. Kanstantsin Kurachkin touched in fifth in the 800m freestyle. Karyna Shved was sixth in the 200m breaststroke.
At the three-day Vladimir Salnikov Cup the Belarusian swimmers clinched nine (four gold, one silver and four bronze) medals. Taking part in the international tournament were 250 best athletes of the Russian Swimming Federation rankings, 50 leading athletes of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast, and 20 swimmers from Belarus.
