Belarus' Viktar Kryuko 8th in Men 10km Sprint at IBU Cup 5 in Slovakia

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – Belarus' Viktar Kryuko finished 8th in the Men 10km Sprint at the IBU Cup 5 in Osrblie, Slovakia, BelTA has learned.

Viktar Kryuko showed clean shooting at the two shooting stages and finished the sprint +38.6 seconds behind the winner. Russia's Semen Suchilov won the event, completing the 10km race in 23:56.0. The silver medal went to Norway's Sivert Guttorm Bakken, +10.3 seconds back. Another Norwegian athlete Endre Stroemsheim rounded out the top three, +12.7 seconds back.

Belarus' Yahor Kazarynau finished 16th.

The IBU Cup 5 should have been held in the Polish city of Duszniki-Zdroj. However, due to warm weather in Poland, the competitions were relocated to the village of Osrblie in Slovakia that hosted the IBU World Cup 4. The competitions will continue with the Women 7.5km Sprint on 17 January.

The IBU Cup 5 will wrap up with the men and women pursuits on 18 January.
