MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – Belarus' world number 65 Vera Lapko has progressed to the quarterfinal of the Samsung Open presented by Corner, BelTA has learned.
In the round of Last 16 the Belarusian saw off Russia's world number 69 Evgeniya Rodina 6-2, 6-0.
The Belarusian battled past Hungary's world number 309 Reka Luca Jani 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 in the opener. Vera Lapko will next face either Slovakia's world number 46 Viktoria Kuzmova or Poland's world number 115 Iga Swiatek.
Vera Lapko and Mandy Minella of Luxembourg will later play the Romanian duet of Sorana Cirstea and Cristina Mitu in the women's doubles quarterfinal.
