MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Belarusian biathletes topped the medal table at the 2020 IBU Open European Championships that wrapped up in Raubichi near Minsk on 1 March, BelTA has learned.


Sunday, 1 March, saw Elena Kruchinkina win gold in the 10km pursuit. Her teammate Sergei Bocharnikov picked up gold in the super sprint and 12.5km pursuit. Iryna Kryuko sealed bronze in the 7.5km sprint.

Russia finished second in the table with four medals (2 gold and 2 silver medals). Norway finished third with 6 medals (1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals).

All in all, taking part in the event were about 270 athletes that competed as part of 35 teams.
