MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – The European Handball Federation hosted the 2021 IHF Men's World Championship playoffs draw in its headquarters in Vienna on 10 March, BelTA has learned.
Belarus will face the winner of the two-leg playoffs between Poland and Lithuania, which are to be played in mid April. Belarus will play its matches in early June.
The results of the draw are as follows:
Switzerland vs Iceland
Czech Republic vs Montenegro
Slovenia vs Serbia
North Macedonia vs France
Ukraine vs Germany
Austria vs Netherlands
Portugal vs part 1 play-off winner Israel vs Latvia
Sweden vs part 1 play-off winner Turkey vs Russia
Hungary vs part 1 play-off winner Romania vs Bosnia-Herzegovina
Belarus vs part 1 play-off winner Poland vs Lithuania

The teams directly qualified for the World Championship from Europe are Denmark, Norway, Spain and Croatia. The teams qualified for the competitions from other continents include Egypt, Algeria, Angola, Tunisia, Cape Verde, DR Congo, Japan, Republic of Korea, Bahrain, Qatar, Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. The rest of the participants will be named later.
The 27th IHF Men's World Championship featuring 32 teams will take place in Egypt in January 2021.
