Belarus sixth in Tula Cadet European Cup 2019

MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) – Belarusian judokas placed sixth on the medal table of the Tula Cadet European Cup 2019 in Russia with one silver and three bronze medals, BelTA has learned.

Silver went to Dmitry Zelenko (50kg). He successfully went through three bouts to lose to Russia's Sergei Mastryukov in the final. Bronze medals were clinched by Alla Burakova (48kg), Polina Slesarenko (52kg) and Denis Yevseyenko (73kg).

Russia topped the medal chart with 11 gold, nine silver and 17 bronze medals. Second was Spain with two gold and one silver medals. Italy placed third with one gold, one silver and four bronze medals.

The Tula Cadet European Cup 2019 took place at the Tula sport center Arsenal on 30-31 March. Taking part in the competitions were over 320 athletes from 20 countries.

Judo makes part of the 2nd European Games. Fifteen medal events will be held at Chizhovka Arena in June 2019.
