MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – Nine national sports associations, including the Belarusian Football Federation, are on the list to bid for the 2020 UEFA Super Cup, BelTA learned from the official website of the Union of European Football Associations.
The UEFA Executive Committee will name the winning bid in May 2018.
The bidding kicked off on 8 December 2017. Different associations could express their interest in hosting the competitions before 12 January 2018.
The nine stadiums to have expressed an interest are: Albania's National Arena in Tirana; Dinamo Stadium in Minsk, Belarus; the Sami Ofer in Haifa, Israel; Kazakhstan's Central Stadium in Almaty; the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau, Moldova; Porto's Estadio do Dragao; Windsor Park, Belfast, Northern Ireland; the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, Finland; and France's Grand Stade de Nice.
The expression of interest has no legal effect. The final applications, together with application files, should be submitted before 29 March 2018.
