Belarus remain 87th in FIFA rankings

MINSK, 16 July (BelTA) - The Belarusian national football team goes 87th with 1,283 points in the recently published rankings of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), BelTA has learned.

Over the past two months Belarus did not play any matches and remained intact in the rankings. The international football season is due to resume in August, with the Champions League and Europa League to be completed. The national teams will start a new season in September with matches in the UEFA Nations League. Mikhail Markhel's men will play against Lithuania (131st in the FIFA rankings), Albania (66th), and Kazakhstan (118th) in Group 4 League C.

FIFA Top 10 for July:

1. Belgium - 1765 points

2. France - 1733

3. Brazil - 1712

4. England - 1661

5. Uruguay – 1645

6. Croatia – 1642

7. Portugal – 1639

8. Spain - 1636

9. Argentina – 1623

10. Colombia – 1622

Among the post Soviet Union states Ukraine ranks the highest (24th) with 1537 points. Russia goes 38th with 1470 points. Georgia is 91st with 1267 points.

The next FIFA rankings will be published on 14 August.
